As a three-time founder and carbon removal entrepreneur, Aaron Fitzgerald is reimagining how we make things. In his role as CEO of Mars Materials, he leads a dedicated team of 'Planeteers' working to commercialize technologies that sequester captured carbon into industrial supply chains. Aaron views this carbon transformation work as a pathway to unlocking a trillion-dollar market opportunity and securing critical resources, from freshwater to materials for transportation and energy. His unique path through policy and carbontech, including a tenure in the United States Senate and fellowships with Breakthrough Energy, Prime Coalition, and Carbon 180, shapes his vision for a defossilized future. As a Lewis Latimer Fellow, an honor presented in connection with the Edison Awards, Aaron is shaping "The Future of Sustainability" by exploring the intersection of innovation, policy, marketing, AI, and community building. A resident of Houston, Texas, Aaron also provides business mentorship to entrepreneurs from underrepresented groups and is a dedicated practitioner of martial arts.
