Dakota Labine is the Director of Engineering at ThinkOrbital, where he leads multidisciplinary teams developing technologies that enable the next generation of in-space infrastructure. His work focuses on the practical deployment of orbital manufacturing, servicing, and inspection capabilities that support a more sustainable and economically viable space economy. Prior to ThinkOrbital, Dakota served as a systems engineer at Blue Canyon Technologies, where he led spacecraft systems development for multiple commercial and government constellation programs and supported the Venus smallsat platform product line. At ThinkOrbital, he has led engineering efforts behind autonomous welding demonstrations in space and advanced inspection systems, helping bridge the gap between early-stage technology development and operational commercial capability in orbit.
