Jennifer Speed, Ph.D., is Assistant Vice President for Research Development at Texas State University. She is charged with growing research, especially through large-scale collaborative sponsored proposals and capacity-building efforts that support researchers from all disciplines. She also leads partnership development with industry, government, and academia that is intended to lead to sponsored projects. She has demonstrated experience securing large-scale and transformational grants from major federal and private funders. Prior to coming to Texas State in 2023, she was Research Development Strategist at Princeton University, and Director of Extramural Funding and Strategic Resource Development at the University of Dayton, where she was also research professor of religious studies. Dr. Speed’s work has been supported by the Fulbright Commission, National Endowment for the Humanities, Mellon Foundation, the Spanish Government, and the American Historical Association.
