Dr. Robert Miller
Director, Military Health Institute | UT San Antonio
Dr. Robert I. Miller joined UT Health San Antonio in 2024 as an Associate Vice President and Director of the Military Health Institute (MHI). In this role, he is the USAA Patty & Joe Robles, Jr. Distinguished Chair for Military Health. He is also a Clinical Professor in the Department of Pediatrics. Dr. Miller is a retired Air Force Lieutenant General with 39 years of service and finished his military career at the Pentagon as the Surgeon General for the U.S. Air Force and the U.S. Space Force. He is a graduate of the Uniformed Services University School of Medicine and a Fellow of the American Association for Physician Leadership, the American College of Healthcare Executives, and the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Miller is board-certified in General Pediatrics and Developmental-Behavioral Pediatrics and has a Texas medical license.
