John “Slick” Baum is a distinguished aerospace executive, former U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and senior strategic advisor with more than two decades of experience advancing American aviation, defense and space leadership. As Chief Innovation and Marketing Officer, Slick is leading Voyager Technologies’ global brand, marketing and strategic communications and is driving the company’s innovation agenda as the company accelerates growth across space, defense and national security markets. He previously served as Chief of the Media & Opinion Leader Branch for the Secretary of the Air Force, where he led strategic communications, outreach, and engagement with senior stakeholders across the Department of War, Congress and the defense industrial base. A former U.S. Air Force Thunderbirds demonstration pilot, Slick is a graduate and instructor of the USAF Fighter Weapons School and earned a bachelor’s and master’s degrees in aeronautical science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a master’s in strategic communications from George Mason University.
