Classically trained with two Electrical Engineering degrees from Texas A&M University, Matt has spent nearly two decades at SwRI first designing, fabricating, and testing flight hardware as an engineer, then leading high performance project and organizational teams as the Director of the Department of Space Instrumentation. He's committed to helping his team members find their optimal roles, enabling successful project completion and promoting employee engagement. He's heavily involved in the SwRI United Way campaign and other community outreach events, plays euphonium in his church orchestra and serves on the board of Respite Care San Antonio. Raising his four young sons keeps him occupied outside of the office, a task he can only successfully complete with the aid and support of his loving wife, Dr. Freeman.
