Tim Kopra

Tim Kopra is Chief Human Exploration Officer at Voyager Technologies, a NASA astronaut, International Space Station (ISS) commander and retired U.S. Army aviator whose career reflects a lifelong commitment to exploration and leadership. Selected as a NASA astronaut in 2000, Kopra flew two space missions, spending 244 days in space and conducting three spacewalks totaling more than 13 hours. He first flew in 2009 on STS-127/128 as a Mission Specialist and served as an ISS Expedition 20 Flight Engineer, helping assemble the ISS and conduct scientific research. He returned in 2015–2016, serving as ISS Expedition 46 Flight Engineer and Expedition 47 Commander, leading an international crew and overseeing station operations and human research. Before NASA, Kopra served more than 25 years in the U.S. Army as an attack helicopter pilot, commander and experimental test pilot. A West Point graduate, he retired from the Army in 2010 and continues to support the future of human space exploration.
